Treating Everyone with Respect
The university’s core missions of knowledge creation and education require that all voices are welcome and included in the conversation.
Explore Energy is committed to ensuring that everyone on campus is treated with respect, and that we remove barriers that prevent people from reaching their full potential. We seek to build a vibrant community of people with varied backgrounds and experiences for a fair and collegial world. For our program in particular, this includes advancing justice in all aspects of energy education. Our program commitment to open access to learners far beyond Stanford reflects this aspiration.
We follow the four priorities below, which are in keeping with the policies of the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability.
Explore Energy’s Priorities
1. Educate members of our community about practices that advance fairness, respect, objectivity, and openness to new ideas, especially in relationship to energy transitions.
2. Enhance resources and opportunities to create a friendly environment for experiential education, especially for people who may have felt excluded from the the energy sector.
3. Engage and partner with campus organizations and networks, that also promote fairness, respect, objectivity, and openness to new ideas.
4. Embrace accountability for advancing these priorities across Explore Energy.
